SkillRise Careers is South Africa's skills-first recruitment platform. Instead of relying on traditional CVs and keyword matching, we use voice-powered profiles and AI to verify and match candidates based on their actual skills and experience. Our goal is to make hiring faster, fairer, and more effective for both employers and job seekers.
SkillRise is built for two audiences. Job seekers of all backgrounds and experience levels can create a free voice profile to showcase their skills and get matched to opportunities. Employers and recruiters across all industries can use the platform to find pre-verified, skills-matched candidates, reducing time-to-hire and improving placement quality.

For job seekers, yes - completely free, now and always. You can create your voice profile, receive your SkillScore, upload documents, and get matched to job opportunities at no cost. Employers pay a monthly subscription fee to access the talent pool and matching tools, with plans starting from R2,500 per month.
At launch, SkillRise Careers is focused on the South African market. Our platform is designed to address local recruitment challenges and comply with South African legislation including POPIA. We plan to expand to other African markets in the future.
For Job Seekers
Instead of filling in forms or uploading a CV, you simply record yourself talking about your skills and experience - like a conversation. Our AI listens to your recording using OpenAI Whisper and automatically identifies your skills, experience levels, and strengths. It takes about 2 minutes and works right in your browser - no app download needed.
Your SkillScore is an objective measure of your abilities based on your voice profile, verified skills, and profile completeness. It helps employers quickly understand how well you match their requirements - and it helps you stand out from the crowd without needing fancy CVs or connections. The higher your SkillScore, the more visible you become to employers.
At launch, our voice processing supports English, Afrikaans, isiZulu, isiXhosa, and Sesotho. We are actively working on adding support for all 11 official South African languages. You can record in the language you are most comfortable with - our AI handles the rest.
Once your voice profile is processed and your SkillScore is generated, our AI matching engine compares your verified skills against employer requirements. When there is a strong match, you will receive a notification. You do not need to browse and apply to individual listings - the right opportunities come to you based on your actual capabilities.
Absolutely. We take data privacy seriously and comply fully with POPIA (Protection of Personal Information Act). Your data is encrypted, stored on South African servers, and never sold to third parties. You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data at any time. For Employers
Our Employer plan starts at R2,500/month plus R1,900 per recruiter seat, with a once-off R3,500 setup fee. We also offer an Enterprise plan for larger organisations with custom pricing. Compare that to traditional agencies that charge 15-25% of annual salary per hire - SkillRise pays for itself with your very first placement.
When you post a vacancy, you specify the required skills, experience level, and other criteria. Our AI engine then matches your requirements against our database of pre-verified candidates, ranking them by SkillScore and fit. You receive a shortlist of the best matches, complete with verified skills profiles, so you can focus your time on interviewing the right people.

Yes. We offer a Starter plan that lets you post up to 3 active jobs and access basic candidate matching at no monthly cost - you only pay per successful placement. This lets you experience the platform and see results before committing to a subscription. Upgrade to Employer or Enterprise at any time.
We are building integrations with popular South African HR and payroll systems. Our Enterprise plan includes API access for custom integrations with your existing applicant tracking system (ATS), HRIS, or internal tools. Contact us for details on specific integration requirements.
Technical
Our platform uses OpenAI Whisper for voice transcription, custom natural language processing for skills extraction, and proprietary matching algorithms to connect candidates with opportunities. All voice data is processed securely, and we do not permit third-party AI providers to use your data for training purposes.
SkillRise Careers is a web-based platform that works on any modern browser including Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge. For voice recording, you need a device with a microphone (most smartphones and laptops have one built in). No app download is required - everything works in your browser.
We use industry-standard encryption (TLS/SSL in transit, AES-256 at rest) and store all data on South African-based servers. Access to personal data is restricted to authorised personnel, and we conduct regular security audits. We are fully compliant with POPIA and committed to protecting your information. Yes, our Enterprise plan includes REST API access for integration with your existing systems. The API allows you to programmatically post jobs, retrieve candidate matches, manage applications, and pull analytics data. API documentation will be available at launch.
